Growing up in Colombia, my parents exposed me to all genres of music from an early age. Our family was well-known and loved to host society parties - the sounds of latin, disco and 80’s emanated throughout our house. My first concert in Colombia was Air Supply, and then salsa bands like el Gran Combo, and Grupo Niche. Childhood piano lessons led to experimentation with different genres like classical músic.
After our move to Miami Beach in ’91, I discovered electronic music, hip hop and rock. My first festival at 17 years old was Woodstock ’94, and my first rock concert was Nirvana. At 21 I discovered night clubs and that is where I fell in love with Djs. I worked night clubs and events in South Beach but I was never behind the decks... being a Dj seemed like another world. When I moved to San Francisco in 2001, many of my new friends were Djs. I learned the art of mixing tracks from them and I was hooked. I’ve always loved music and being able to control the vibe of a party was another layer of night life that I found intoxicating.
While producing and hosting events for bars and night clubs in San Francisco, Djing became an obsession. I began playing at house parties with friends, and tapped my vast music collection to make original mixes for my fitness classes. Eventually my friend Dj Dfuse heard me play and began hiring me to Dj events.
For four years in a row I played the LA Food and Wine Festival, opening for artists like Train and Common. I played the opening party for Fabrik Art Show in Downtown LA two years in a row, and numerous private art events and parties around Los Angeles, Malibu and the Westside.
I love playing music - I hope you enjoy my mixes.
